With summer in full swing, here's a shot from our Battlefield Study cum Adventurous Training trip in Türkiye, 2022.

Troops examined the combat at Gallipoli, visiting the locations of key battles and paying respects at Commonwealth war memorials. Afterwards, the trip transitioned into adventurous activities consisting of canyoning, riding, snorkelling, kayaking and even paragliding!

With an assortment of ranks and even some of our regular counterparts present, the trip gave troops the opportunity to expand their intellectual and physical horizons.

Used on static positions and atop our Jackal platform, each 50.cal HMG fires a 12.7mm round.

Several members of F Sqn have taken the opportunity to learn the ropes aboard Army Offshore Sailing Centre boats giving them more experience towards their RYA crew competency qualifications.

As the winter season draws to a close, a quick congratulations to the Dragoons that competed at the Royal Armoured Corps ski championships.

Competing for the RY, QDG and as part of a pan yeomanry ski team, soldiers got the opportunity to learn ski racing across a range of different disciplines. These opportunities are offered to all soldiers in the Army Reserves and further drive their athletic ability.

Last week, we kicked off our battle brief series with an excellent presentation by Tpr D. on the battle of El Alamein, which took place in 1942. This decisive allied victory, led by General Montgomery, eliminated the Axis threat to Egypt, the Suez canal and the region's oil fields.

It is a Royal Yeomanry battle honour, with many of our antecedent regiments involved. Below is a link to memories written by a former 4th County of London Yeomanry Sergeant, which mentions the battle.

As part of their NATO deployment to Poland, junior soldiers from the Royal Yeomanry and 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards have taken part in a PNCO course to prepare them for NCO roles.
